We have listed a number of horses in our On The Radar feature over the last 4 months. The horses were highlighted as interesting to follow and a number have proved worthwhile, and of course a few others less so...

The very first column listed Siskin (by First Defence), Terebellum (by Sea The Stars) and Promissory (by Dubawi). Siskin had won a listed race on 24 May and has been unbeaten in his next two starts in Group 2 and Group 1 company. He is entered in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday and given this looks a red hot renewal he is currently a 4-1 chance but looks sure to acquit himself well. Terebellum was impressive when winning her maiden at Goodwood on 23 May and then was placed on next start in Listed company before winning a Group 2 in France. Promissory was well behind Terebellum on first start but she easily won her maiden next time and ran a good race when second in Group 3 company on her last start. She is due to run in a Group 3 on Friday at Newmarket and has a very good chance of a first pattern success. Although Pinatubo (by Shamardal) was already well found when featured after winning a Group 2 at Goodwood he was simply devastating when following up in the Group 1 National Stakes at Curragh next time winning by nine lengths and given an official mark of 128 of is now a higher rated two year old than the legendary Frankel. Mogul (by Shamardal) was spotted after winning his maiden in some style and the full brother to Japan comfortably followed up on next start in a Group 2 at Leopardstown.

At a lower level a classy maiden race at Newmarket was featured as one that one could produce winners and this has already produced four horses who went on to score. Three from the field who were highlighted, Al Mudhar (by Siyouni), First Receiver (by New Approach) and Tsar (by Kingman) are all yet to reappear but are definitely worth following when they do. One handicapper who has certainly paid her way is Rose Hip (by Acclamation) who was highlighted after winning off a mark of 62 in June and then won three of her next four starts and is now rated 81. Of course some horses have not lived up to their billing yet including Visinari (by Dark Angel) an impressive debut winner who stepped up to pattern company on his next three starts, and although making the frame in a Group 2 has not progressed as hoped. However, we still have the belief that Escobar (by Famous Name), a smooth winner at York in mid-July can pick up another decent prize having been placed at good odds in two competitive handicaps at Goodwood and Ascot.
